The Sex Thing... by Paul Lowe

sexEven when I was very young it all seemed so clear to me, so I thought I must be missing something very obvious. So I asked all sorts of people: "What is the issue about nakedness and sexuality?” Got into trouble even asking the question!

The answers, if I got one at all, were laughable.
In fact they were not really answers.
Usually: ''God says…" (I have never met anyone who has met Him.)
Same about relationships. And as for the evolution/creationism...!
As a species, are we really that stupid! Seems so.

I know all of you reading this must see it differently from the majority of people, and, can you understand what is going on about the subject? Have you any idea what the fuss is about? Why seeing a naked body – which we all have (except certain Indian and Arabian religions – and I seem to remember that Catholic Nuns are not allowed to look at themselves?) yet we are not supposed to look at someone else's
except under special conditions. And the sexual act – what on earth is the big deal!
(At one time, animals copulating was never shown on television. Even now it often brings juvenile giggles.)

Yet we take these things, and lots of other stupid ideas, for granted.
Just over the few years I have been around things have started changing – a lot.
When I was young magazines were not allowed to show a woman’s body in a two-piece bathing costume! You got arrested in Spain for wearing one – on the beach, let alone around town. And still, what is accepted as the norm is very strange.

Seems to me it is, like most things, all based on fear. So we let very stupid people dictate our lives. Not sure about that? Watch the average American congress person speak at a government session. You only have to look at the Pope.

Interesting thing to try – be more aware about your fear. Not easy because our body/mind system spends so much time in fear we do not notice it unless it is very pronounced. Easiest way to check is through the body – expanded or contracted.

When you catch even the slightest contraction – what is actually going on?
Is the fear based on the present circumstances – or echoes of the past?

Want to be without fear? Easy.
Unless it is actually a threat to your physical body, every time you feel fear – go into the situation. Right into it. Afraid of public speaking? Get up there and speak. what do you have to lose? Just pride. Same with anything – when in doubt – just do it.
