shaman    Shamanism is a 100,000 year old tradition of knowledge.  The Shaman is the keeper of this ancient tradition and body of healing knowledge. They were the first healers, responsible for the health and well-being of their community. A Shaman is a medicine man or woman, a healer who works with spirit and meditation to connect to his or her own source of power.

Using the Native American Indian Medicine Wheel as a living tool, the Shaman initiates a self healing process that leads him or her on a journey into the spiritual world.  We can use the Medicine Wheel as a learning tool, just as the Shamans have done for ages. We call upon the archetypes of the nature world in each direction of the wheel.  Calling upon theses spirits allows us to tap into an ancient historical image of the major forces of nature, and the lineage of the Shaman.  As we enter the 21st century, we are also able to connect to the cosmic forces that are awakening our ancient memory. We begin to understanding how our cosmic origins play an important role as we  fulfill our souls purpose  as healers or "caretakers" of the Earth.

In 1985 Irene Siegel first journeyed to Peru.  Little did she know that her world of known reality would explode into a profound understanding of alternate realities, spiritual teachers and animal allies. This was just the beginning of her incredible adventure with Shamans in the mountains and jungles of South America.  It was during this early time that she first learned of the Mayan Calendar, and the awakening of consciousness that would take us through the year 2012 and into a Golden Age. Come and join her as she shares her teachings and takes us on a mystical journey into the mystical world of the shaman.  We will be using breathing techniques and drumming to induce a meditative state, leading us to the home of our animal allies and spiritual teachers. We will also discuss the use of the Native American Medicine Wheel as a living tool for growth and transformation.
