Paul Lowe has spent his life investigating the maximum potential for human beings and has found it to be vast, limitless and available to everybody. For forty years he travelled around the world, encouraging people to move beyond what is normally thought of as possible or impossible. He has a remarkable facilty to show people what they are not seeing about themselves, and shares his insights with caring, and perhaps most importantly, humour.
Since retiring from public life in 2007, Paul has continued to send regular emails to a group of of people that were involved in his work and a few others, responding to our state of consciousness, situations in the world and the evolution of our human destiny.
This blog is NewRealities attempt to bring Paul's observations to a greater audience. Feel free to post any comments about what you read here. While Paul may not respond directly, we want to make this an open dialogue among our readers. how they want things to be for themselves,
although they may not be aware of it,
it usually takes some form of complaint.
I would like to make it little more clear how I see it:
Whenever you are not delightfully grateful
for this very moment, just as it is,
usually, you are complaining?
It may not sound like a complaint, but listen carefully.
There ain’t much in the middle -
usually, anything that is not a gratitude, is a complaint.
As I read the replies to postings on IML
I keep finding the same reply emerging -
and when I think of other people who have tried to say the same thing
they usually come down to the same simple message:
just be where and how you are.
>I wrote awhile ago to say that I had experienced a very powerful
about a year ago which was then followed by a honeymoon and then by what
appeared to be an extremely deep depression (which lasted about 4 or 5
I'd been somewhat depressed a couple of times in my life but nothing like
I sensed the "big depression" was associated with the Awakening... After
and complete surrender, the depression lifted about a month ago<
Get it? “After absolute and complete surrender” -
just being where, and how you are, in the moment.
(And 4 or 5 months ain’t bad - if you resist, can be much, much longer.)
Then she says:
>If anyone knows of anything else written on the period between
awakening and enlightenment.<
Now I do understand wanting to know more, and, do you see? -
not wanting to be in the moment - just as it is?
It is well documented that there can be a period of *in between time* -
Dark Night Of The Soul. When you are in it you reach out for any
support you can find. Of course. And the same suggestion applies -
have the experience you are having.
It may not be realised by the experiencer -
the awakening is triggered just by being with what is,
totally, completely - just as it is.
So however it is - pleasant or unpleasant,
just being unconditionally with it - Pop!
This Dark Night Of The Soul stuff. You have been *to the other side* -
you know the absolute delight of feeling free - from every anxiety
of every possible sort - of course, you want to stay there - and it is
that very desire - that brings you back into misery. Only now,
the misery is much worse - because you know how it feels to be free!
Just being with what is - however it is.
Happy to hear the depression has lifted Deborah.
Maybe, now you have been through the process,
you could write more about your experience for other people?
Don’t forget to tell them about the surrender bit.
Surrender - another term for being unconditionally in the moment?
Sending love ...
This is the letter I have just written to the people in the group I just
did at Finki. It has a link to the audio you sent out yesterday. I had
just finished writing this letter when you sent the audio out and it felt
so connected to what I was trying to say that it was perfect to add it.
Thank you for it - perfect. Copy of the letter included underneath.
Lots of love,
Hello to you all,
It was a delight to be with you all at Finki and to be alongside you as
so many of you experienced a shift into a new reality. It’s also been
good to hear from those of you who have written sharing your ongoing
process since the group ended. One person wrote to me and the words to
say to her were “Time to fall in love with yourself” and then I realised
how perfect that was for me and for all of us.
What that really means in the way I’m seeing things is making yourself
the priority, your awareness, your waking up - the priority. We so often
look to the outside, falling in love with another, money, approval,
success in others eyes and we remain unfulfilled and wanting more. We
stay trapped in wanting things to change, to be different.
When we change our focus to our own process, our awakening, to whatever
is happening in this moment we are falling in love with ourselves, caring
for ourselves, noticing whatever IS right now. Very simply, whatever is
happening in this moment, whatever the experience, nothing needs to be
changed – only felt, seen, included – exactly as it IS.
This is precisely what we experience in a moment of realisation in the
>Satori process. Whatever the question it is so clear that the only thing
>that has ever been in the way of seeing the reality of what is has been
>our judgements, our wanting things to be different. Whether it’s about
>ourselves, another, life - in that moment we see with astonishing clarity
>and joy how we have been viewing everything through a cloud of our own
>projections and judgements – and how free we are when we see everything
>so perfectly there AS IT IS.
>Some of you have written asking how to stay in touch with the experience
>of Satori, saying how difficult it is when returning to the everyday
>world you are living in. The fact is that trying to stay in touch with a
>past experience is just wanting things to be different. And that’s fine
>too! “Wow – here I am in this moment wanting things to be different!”
>It’s hilarious really when you really see it. And in that moment you are
>in love with yourself! Such a journey and such a miracle……. Every moment
>and experience is always FOR you. An opportunity to be with yourself, to
>So for all of us who were together at Finki this summer the Satori
>process is continuing in every new moment. The group is an amazing
>microcosm of where we are right now and it never ends. Coming together in
>the group energy is very powerful and an enormous reminder of the support
>we give and receive from each other. It is always an awakening.
Sending much love and gratitude to you all,
P.S. Paul Lowe is an inspirational teacher and my lifelong friend. This
>audio arrived this morning and felt so appropriate to include with this
>letter to you all. "Being With Yourself, Just As You Are"
P.P.S. The next Satori is in England in October, come if you can and, if
appropriate, tell the people you care about that it’s happening.
